Kids Read 4 $eed! hosts pledge-based reading incentive fundraiser programs from Usborne Books called Reach For The Stars. The program works as a read-a-thon. We put books in the hands of kids and reward them for reading. At the same time, it provides the school or organization with cash and/or books.
The goal of Reach For The Stars is for the participants to read, or be read to for 300 minutes or more over a ten day period of time. This is an average of 30 minutes per weekday. Education experts encourage routine daily reading and recommend a minimum of 30 minutes every day!
This program can benefit any organizational group. This would include entire schools, individual classrooms, clubs, preschools, church groups, home school groups, charities, businesses, public libraries, etc.
Absolutely not! This program will work well seeking just those safe, mentoring friends and family members who will encourage kids In their reading.
They develop a reading routine! They also get free books and other prizes for participating! This program encourages kids to read and to keep reading by giving them books to keep at home!
